Journal

January 5, 2002

Christmas is my favorite holiday but I am just sooooooooooo glad the hub-bub of the holidays are over and done with for this year! It's ALOT of work partying all the time! Mark goes back to work on Monday and the kids will be in school and my life will return to normal! .....Ok, as normal as normal is for us. At the very least I will get back to my routine, have time to exercise and take care of me! Not to mention keep up with things here online!

Mark is off to band practice this afternoon, so I thought I better come make a journal entry and answer some of the hundreds of emails I have backed up. I so don't like getting this behind but that's life I suppose.

We finally found the car we've been looking for and picked it up yesterday. I love it! It's a Dodge Intrepid ES - Charcoal Gray (looks black to me) with leather seats and tinted windows, an awesome stereo system ....and well, lots of other options.... I ahhh still need to read about.....let's just say it's sweeeeeeeeet. I'll post a pic tomorrow or Monday along with the house pic i've been promising for months.

The scale went up just a bit over the holidays and i'm fine with that. It's the kind of weight I know will be back off in no time with a little more focus on me. I am certainly not a statistic and I really did make many good choices. Who knew you could find success in gaining a little weight? lol One of the things i've learned about myself is that when I do re-focus, boy do I RE-FOCUS. My journal's out. I've already printed out some new recipes and we spent a fortune in groceries this morning to be sure I have good choices around for the week. Now that i'll have more time again, I already know exercise will be a top priority in the days ahead. How I miss those endorphines! Another thing i've had to limit is my water since we've been so busy and in the car alot. My lips have been dry and I can tell i'm missing it....this is a first for me...it's awesome to see how dependent my body has become for the good stuff.

The website, like WW, has been alot busier with new members and visitors. It seems even more people have a resolution to lose weight and get healthier this year. This is a good thing! I get alot of emails and questions asking for my 'secrets'...you know, what I eat and exactaly what I do for exercise. I thought it might be a good idea to address some of this again here. I really have no secrets at all. I simply follow the plan as it is intended by eating what I like and I move my body alot more than I used to by doing whatever it is I feel like doing on any given day. It sounds simple and really, it is. I would put more effort into explaining it all but I really think that you need to find what is going to work for YOU to make changes you are happy with and can live with for the rest of your life. People are different. Some choose a harder, more critical road for themselves....I choose to take the scenic route...it has given me alot more than weight loss. There are lots of tips and tricks i've learned along the way and those are shared all over the website. You can also visit the message forums and learn from some of the very best 'losers' in the world. Change your attitude....remember that you're not meant to be perfect....there are always two sides to a coin so you may as well chose the shiny one! It's a long and bumpy ride so hold on and when life is trying to send you into a guardrail ...just do the best you can do until you can get yourself back into the right lane again. Perseverance is the key to losing and maintaing weight...remember that above all else!

A very happy and healthy new year to you all.

This WILL be the year!

~Kim
