Christmas Challenge - Week 2

Well, i'm still headed in the right direction...down .6 again this week. Slow and steady wins the race. :) That leaves 18.8 to shed to reach my xmas goal!

I've been doing very well keeping within my points and meeting my guidelines but noticed by reading my journal that i'm still not shaking things up enough to get the results i'm looking for. Being in Las Vegas for a few days should help with that! My treadmill needs a new belt that is on order so i've been getting outside when I can...trying hard to keep to my 5 days a week commitment. I walk/run further when i'm outside so that's good but I enjoy the convenience of being at home too. Looking forward to that getting fixed!

My doctor's visit went well. He was quite impressed with my success this past year and praised me alot throughout the visit. He told mark (who also had an apt.) how impressed he was with me and that he could not believe I still had all that weight off and was still going.....good thing he didn't say those words to me! He was sure to remind me that I am a minority in the world of weight-loss but I was quick to remind him that there are more people losing weight and keeping it off then ever. I told him about all of our success stories at G2G and all of the people I see having success because we are listening to others who are doing it and finding out what it takes to make it work for us. We are learning......instead of starving. Hope I helped to enlighten him a bit.

We talked about surgery and he says that what is left on my body will most probably stay. You can see the muscle in me and you can see what is just skin. He's not sure if any of the surgery will be covered by insurance but will send me to the plastic surgeon when I want to go. I'd like to get pass my christmas challenge and then I will go for a consultation with the surgeon to see what he suggests. It's important to get close to where you want to be scale wise before having it done. Makes sense to me. I'll keep you all posted, of course.

Well, that's it for this week. We fly out Friday for vegas....and will return on Tuesday morning. I'm so looking forward to meeting some of you! I think i'll wait until after our trip to make another journal entry. I'll also be adding tons of pictures of our trip to the site next week! I will post my weigh-in results in the christmas challenge forum after my meeting on Thursday tho so you can look for it there.

Until next week, I leave you with a quote left in the forums this very day from my very dear friend Julie...aka the walkinlady. Who, by the way, is a GREAT BIG inspiration to me and many others and is also up to 147 pounds lost!! I'm like a proud mama! hehe

Life is what you make of it...your either LIVING or DYING,
Your LIVING if your HAPPY....DYING is everything else!!!!!!

Stay Happy,
Kim
