Hi again! Can you all see me doing that "wooohoooo I lost 1.4 more pounds" happy dance? hehehe
This week started off a little scary. I woke up Friday morning with this big, painful, bump thingy on the side of my right leg. So, I called the good ole doc and went in to see him. I know that about a month ago I whacked that spot real hard on this metal piece that juts out the side of my treadmill...I said a couple "bad" words under my breath :-) and forgot all about it. Anyway, he took a look and told me he was almost convinced that I had fractured my fibula when I did that and then probably re-injured it with all of the added exercise I did last week...including that jogging I was so proud of! lol He also said, not only would I not be able to walk or jog for a while but that it would probably need to be put in a cast!...ugh. So, I went and had my x-rays and was sent home.
Now I have no doubt that I can keep myself on track without the exercise...but I was still bitching and moaning about it when he called to tell me that he was suprised...but, the x-rays came back normal and that it was probably a harmless blood clot I just needed to apply some heat to. He did tell me to lay off the jogging for a while, but that I could still walk...whew! Well, I have been walking some but notice it seems to get sore and swollen when I do...soooooo, i'm still trying to take it a little easy for now...and i'm fine with that.
Going to see him also gave me the opportunity to talk more with him about the excess skin issues that I may face. I'm told I have good elasticity and that age is on my side...BUT...ya never know! The plan is, as I get closer to goal, he'll set up an appointment with a plastic surgeon to discuss the pro's and con's of a tummy tuck and whether or not I should have it. I'll tell you...after looking through some of my older photo's recently...including the ones where I was pregnant with our third child (who was 10lbs 4oz!)...I'm pretty happy with how well my tummy has shrunk so far! lol When the time comes I will be sure to share everything I can as I know this is a major concern for many of you.
We had company this past weekend and I did go over in points one day (it was Mike's fault!..Mike's hard lemonade that is...mmmmmmm). It's not often I drink and I know I had activity and banked points available, but I don't usually use them. I stayed fairly low range the rest of the week and banked some points so I can visit with "Mike" again tomorrow at the concert...hehehe. It's an all day event, but i'm not worried a bit. We're bringing salad and water, boca's and fat free dogs to cook on the grill as well as light buns...baby carrots, 'WOW' chips and pretzles to snack on too! I'll use alot of these same things over this holiday weekend. All it takes is a little thought and some planning and we can stay right on track no matter where we are or what we're doing...and most importantly, without feeling deprived!
Davey will be here a week from Wednesday (he's my friend from England) and he'll be staying almost 3 weeks! He's well aware of how important my weight loss efforts are and he's been here before...so he knows I'll blame him if I go off track...hehehe.
I've added alot to the site this week...including the message forum, so make sure you check it out. I know from all of the email and guestbook entries that you all are so motivating and have alot to offer and what has helped you may really help someone else so leave a post...or two...or more. :-)
I hope that you all have a very happy...very safe...and very ON PROGRAM holiday weekend. Enjoy whatever it is you're doing while staying right on track and think of how good you will feel about that success when you're back to routine.
Kim
